There are so many gorgeous hairstyles around that it’s not always easy to be sure which one will suit you best.

No need to visit the salon to experiment with different hairstyles, we can tell you right now what is the best hairstyle for you!

First...

Stand in front of a large mirror, with your back straight, shoulders back and head held high. Make sure lighting isn't shining directly on you or the mirror and look directly ahead.

1

If your face...

  • Has a narrow jaw line and wider temples
  • Is a bit longer than it is wide
  • Has a wider forehead than chin
  • Has very smooth cheekbones
  • Has a rounded chin

Then...

Your luck is in, your face suits all kinds of styles! Thick hair, long tumbling, and Californian-style loose curls all work well. Try a nourishing conditioner such as Pantene Pro-V Damage Repair to tame them and add shine. If you fancy going shorter, choppy and laid-back layers are perfect. If you're feeling brave, you could also pull-off a pixie cut. For fine hair, add layers for volume. Softer side-fringes work better than blunt bangs, and messy curls add volume around cheekbones. If you go straight, add volume at the roots to avoid lengthening your face.

If your face....

  • Is wider at the temples and hairline
  • Has a similar forehead and cheekbone width
  • Has a doll-like appearance
  • Has cheekbones with the same width as the length of your face
  • Has a delicate and pointy chin

Then...

The key is to draw attention to your eyes and cheekbones, and to add volume around your lower face. If you can't bear to lose length, then add gradual, choppy layers through the back. Poker straight hair needs a style that encourages locks to fall onto your face, highlighting cheekbones and slimming your face. Avoid short blunt fringes - long and wispy or side swept is a better option for you. Side partings tend to work better than a middle part, too. For thick hair ask for soft layers cut close to your jaw line. Long, loose curls look great, as does a wavy bob that ends at your jaw line. Keep your hair full with Pantene Pro-V Sheer Volume Conditioner- the 2-in1 formula means your hair doesn't get too weighed down.

If your face is/has....

  • A length 2x bigger than width
  • A gently-rounded chin
  • A bit more square shape
  • Similar cheekbone and jawline size
  • A slightly wider chin

Then...

Your haircut should be all about softening those sharp features. The best way is by adding texture with waves for curly girls, and choppiness if you have very straight hair. Blunt, chin-length bobs are to be avoided, as is any cut that's above your jawline - you need more length than that. Soft curls will lift your cheekbones and increase volume to make your face appear rounder, but volume at the roots is a bad idea, so avoid shorter layers. Pantene Pro-V Classic Clean Shampoo and Conditioner will keep your hair light. A grown-out fringe that falls just below your cheeks is great - add a soft wave for even better effect! If you pick a style that is past your shoulders it needs volume via curls, a la Sarah Jessica Parker. Go for the Pantene Smooth & Sleek range to keep hair glossy.
