No matter how comfortable a car is, the smelly aromas can easily make a simple trip an unpleasant experience for you and your passengers. Here are some tips on improving the environment of your car and eliminating unpleasant odors.
1. Keep your car clean
Remove any and all trash from your car, even the stuff that does not give off any odor. Pay special attention to the seats and the space right around them, and make sure there's nothing in the glove compartment or under the rugs.
2. Surfaces of your car must be washed
Wipe the plastic, wood or metal surfaces with hot water or a cleaning solution. For the glass, apply the most appropriate solution and clean using newsprint so there are no smudges or fingerprints left behind. If it’s a hot day, make sure you roll down the windows in order to air out the car.
3. Brush the rugs
Remove the rugs from the car and brush them to discard traces of dirt or stones that have been brought in by shoes. It can be troublesome to take the rugs out of the automobile, but the extra effort will eliminate the need to vacuum again.
4. Once clean, try seeking out any remaining odors
If odors still persist even after the car is clean, the culprit could be:
Bacteria – usually found in rotting food. Find the source of the smell, remove it, then apply your favorite Febreze Air Freshener scent to the area.
Tobacco smoke – to rid your car of the pungent odor, use a car vent clip from Febreze that transforms the quality of the air, removing bad smell, germs and impurities in the air. You can try the anti-tobacco car vent clip or even the nice smell of Flowers & Spring.
5. Add a fragrance in your car
There's nothing like travelling in a car that smells nice. Try Febreze Aerosol for an instant refresh in your desirable scent: vanilla essence, sandalwood, ocean & wind, jasmine or wild berries.
