Read on our tips to build a fabulous look from the foundation up!
For the face:
The key to a great makeup look is perfect foundation. It will cover spots and blemishes, hide shadows under your eyes and smooth your skin. Whether in liquid or powder form, sheer or matte, foundation transform your appearance. Feel free to apply foundation with your fingers in round moves or with a proper brush.
Before applying it, make sure your skin is clean and moisturized. The next step is a good primer: it will close the pores on your skin and smooth it. Don't forget the concealer after the foundation and a little bit of powder to absorb any excess of oil from your skin.
For the eyes:
Eyeliner is an important part of great-looking makeup. Glamourous and elegant! For perfect application, you need a liquid, intense black eyeliner. Nice tip: pick a waterproof version that doesn’t smudge so you can be sure it’ll last from day to night.
Always begin by drawing the line from the inner to the outer corner of the eye, following the natural curve of your eyelid as closely as possible.
Find the final point and the direction of the line using a brush.
Connect and finish the line, making sure that the ends of the line taper slightly instead of ending in a blunt, rounded dot.
Simply use a sponge tip applicator or a cotton swab to smudge if you make a little mistake, until it is perfect.
False lashes are a must have for more glamourous dinner parties. You will need false lashes of your choice, a good glue and tweezers that will help you hold the strip. Before you start applying the lashes, measure their length to make sure it fits your eye shape (if the strip needs be shortened, cut the edge off with small scissors).
Squeeze a thin line of lash glue and wait 10 seconds for the glue to become stickier before placing the strip. Eyelashes should always be applied after eye shadows and mascara, as the final step of your glamorous makeup.
Adjust and press gently to blend with the natural lash line.
For the lips:
You're almost ready! After tweaking the colour and texture, finish with an exuberant red lipstick on!
First, apply lip liner to a dry lip surface so that it stays put. Follow with a long-lasting lipstick to make it last longer. Don't forget to take the excess with a tissue paper.
Tip: matching lips and fingernails is such a classic beauty statement and, with the return to glamour, it’s a must.
